Wine Expert IWI

Feel confident in dealing with wines and wine lists, based on your trained sensory perception and factual knowledge. The modular training programme leading up to the certified Wine Connoisseur (IWI) provides you with the basics required to enter the professional world of tasting, describing and recognising wines.

In addition to providing in-depth background information on the most important wine-growing regions worldwide, you will have the opportunity to taste a range of representative wines and train your sensory abilities.

Module 1 - Basic

The Basic module provides an intensive, highly practical international content. Learn all about growing and making wine, the sensory appreciation of wine, the language used to describe wines, and more about the wines of Germany Deutschland.

Module 2 - Advanced

The Advanced module provides comprehensive information on the most famous wine-growing regions in France, Italy, Spain and Austria - even if you have not completed the Basic module, you will find this of interest and practical use. A representative selection of wines will show differences on a practical level, and will train your sensory and descriptive abilities.

Module 3 - Professional

The Professional module provides extensive information on the wines of the New World, and looks at the pairing of food and wine - you can benefit from this even if you have not completed the other modules of this programme. A practical tasting experience at the very highest level!
