Claudia Schütz was born in the United States of America, of German parents. She studied business administration at Stanford University. Her great love and passion are the wines of the New World.

Reasons for this can certainly be found in the fact that her home state is California, and that her parents own the "Schug Carneros Estate" in Sonoma.

Claudia has completed the WSET wine education programme, finishing off with the Diploma in Wines & Spirits in 2009. Her next objective is the distinguished Master of Wine qualification. She has been running her own wine importing company since 1994, which, among others, represents the wines produced by her family in Germany.
